PostSubject: Insuring a British plated Car   Tue Feb 02, 2010 2:37 pm

First topic message reminder :

Hello,
I have a British plated 2.0l 4x4 that we drove over here. Do to the size of the car and my age it is very expensive for me to keep the car on my British insurance policy. I read through the "
Bulgarian Law on Insuring a Vehicle in Bulgaria"
Sticky and got my question answered, "
Yes i can get fully comp insurance here for a forign car"
but now i dont know where. I userstand you probably dont like company names being plastered all over you forum, but if someone could point me in the right direction it would be most helpfull.

Ive got all the documents and a valid MOT certificate just for the records.

kind regards, Matt

I bought a Nissen Patrol in driving from Spain in 2005. a nightmare of costs, customs and excise, going out the country and back in again. car stamped on your passport! and then after nearly a year and 800 leva in parking fees because I couldn't drive it, plate it, etc. Well we have all had similar. before the Eu.
Best advice I can give is buy a registered vehicle here, It's so much simpler.

I agree its easier to buy a car here thats registered, but you have to be very careful,a lot of the car sales here get their cars from germany, ones that have been damaged, then they bring them over for repair,we have registered 2 british cars here with no problems it took about half a day,as long as you have all the docs log book ect its easy,we took a translator with us to fill in all the forms, she charged 10 Lev well worth the money,

Totally agree with you Mike, it is dead easy once you have all the documents - plain sailing as we found out later
