First topic message reminder :

I thought i would start this topic so we could share what great friends we have met in Bulgaria,English and Bulgarian,Myself and Heather have met some great Bulgarian people that are now our very close friends, their life is great and we have now started living their life, and it is great, their way of life is very differant but very nice,we have just been invited to a wedding in Sofia,it is the daughter of a local businessman that i have been working for,to be part of their life is great, and we both love it,We have some great british friends here also, today we had a real old fashioned barbque with some of our brit friends, and a t bone steak each, not bad very tasty, life here is what you make it,but be very careful what friends you make,as we have both found out like in England Brits get into what we call clicks, stear clear that is not the way to go here, look after your Bulgarian friends and you will do just great, they really cant do enough to help you,and believe me they will be your best friends

Its good to hear so much about how we all make friends and how the friendship develops some good and some not so good but I do think it's quite easy in Bulgaria to make friends as the Bulgarians seem to be such a nice lot of people yes there are those who you need to avoid but on the whole compared to say the uk they are very genuine and honest

I think that could be said for the world over John b and the Uk isn't excluded from it I think commonsense must always prevail wherever you are there will always be those who want to take rather than give

So very true I could tell you some stories about Brits that would make your hair curl and believe me I would rather trust a Bulgarian than a Brit at face value

Well we have been here a few years now, and if anything our relationship with our Bulgarian friends has grown stronger &
stronger.

We are still of the opinion that we would rather be friends with most Bulgarians than some Brits we know. We have been sh***ed by some Bulgarians but once bitten and all that. But we have also been well and truly sh***ed by Brits and we understood the lingo. As Mick said in the original post beware.

I don't know why but the expats seem to leave their brains at checkin in the UK and then they wonder why it all goes wrong as said common sense even if it is common
