PostSubject: MIND THE STEP INDIAN RESTAURANT   Fri Jun 18, 2010 11:26 am

First topic message reminder :

Hi All,

Im new to the forum and to BG, Im Abu the manager of "
mind the step"
indian restaurant. We opened last season late june and finished the season on the 18th september, we opened this season on the 1st may and will hopefully be open till late september again. I had never travelled to any other country besides UK and Bangladesh so this is a learning curve for me, I live in the UK (Scunthorpe) and have been in the restaurant industry for more than 20 yrs. I started off in the kitchen and worked my way up to a chef, I liked what I did but fancied a change, so when this opportunity/challenge came up I thought Id have a bash at it. Now still in its early stages I think we have made an impact in Sunny Beach, we have our regular clientele coming over on a regular basis. I had noticed when I initially came to BG that most of the food that is served here isnt what it should be, coming from the UK we are accustomed to high quality food and service, but are not offered it here.
I think Ive written enough now, I dont want to bore you to death, thanks for taking the time to read this.
Take care and speak to you soon.

Abu

Nice to hear from you Davshaz, and greetings to everyone. It's good to be able to communicate whenever I want and faster,Bangladesh's information highway (or should I say slowway) still needs to catch up with the rest of the world.
I have a feeling it's going to be a little busier this season.I would urge anyone that is intending to visit to book beforehand (24hrs at least) to avoid disappointment, and please let me know who you are when you go down, I would like to put a face to the names that everyone hides behind, for that personal touch.
We as an Indian restaurant are not doing anything different to what you would expect here in the UK, but when you are in a country like Bulgaria and the service and food are not always up to scratch, it's no wonder when the Brits and Irish find a place like ours they are simply awe struck. You find an Indian restaurant/ takeaway at nearly every main street nowadays, and that is what we Brits are missing here. I'm surprised that with all the Brits investing in this up and coming country, we are not catering for ourselves.
I'm sorry to have gone a bit astray, but I hope people have not elevated us to a status we probably do not deserve and when some other people visit they don't see what all the fuss is about and are disappointed.
Thank you everyone for your interest, and I look forward to seeing you
Take care and speak to you soon

Great news that you'll be opening in May again, looking forward to our visits its a real treat for us - have had to survive on home made curries during the winter (not in the same league).

Hi Everyone,

I'm extremely sorry for the delay in letting you all know when we plan to open. We are in the last stages of completing the work in progress, for a more comfortable and cosy feel to our terrace.
We will hopefully be open for Monday night ( fingers-crossed), and sorry once again for the inconvenience.

Thank you: Scott for reply.

I check their facebook but that does not appear to have been updated since Sept last year, so we can only assume they are still closed. Should anyone now different please advise. Mind you if they are open, it will soon be time to close again as the season is almost over.

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately the owners have not been able to acquire the premises next to Aqua Nevis, so we have had to put a hold on opening this season. If and when they do, I shall try and keep you updated.
I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience, hopefully next season fingers crossed.
Take care and speak to you soon.

Thank you all for the wishes. Wish I could open in Burgas, but the decision is not mine. Maybe in the future. Will try and keep you posted.
Take care and speak to you soon.
