Traffic restrictions in Sofia during Putin's November 13 visit

There will be traffic restrictions in parts of central Sofia on November 12 and 13 2010 because of the visit to Bulgaria by Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin, the Interior Ministry said.

As part of security measures, streets, boulevards, squares and areas around the Vassil Levski national football stadium will be either subject to traffic detours or closed for parking, the ministry said.

Starting 6pm on November 12, until further notice, parking will be forbidden along Gen. Yossif Gourko Boulevard, between GS Rakovski Street and Lege Street. Additionally, no parking or stopping will be allowed along Tsar Osvoboditel Street and Dyakon Ignatii Street.

On November 13, staring 7am, until further notice, parking and/or stopping along the inner lanes of Tsarigradsko Chaussee from Brussels Boulevard until Orlov Most will be forbidden. The restrictions are also in place for vehicles along Tsar Osvoboditel Street, around Orlov Most, Nezavisimost Square, Parliament Square, Alexander I Square, around the Vassil Levski stadium (outside the main entrance and near Ariana).

Parking restrictions will also be in place for vehicles on Vassil Levski Bouelvard, Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi Street, November 15 Street, and Oborishte Street, the statement said.
