Christmas tree season in Bulgaria has begun

This year’s season of harvesting Christmas trees kicked off at the beginning of December, local news agency Focus said on December 9.

Depending on demand, more than 150 000 Christmas trees could be supplied this year, Bulgaria’s Forestry Agency said.

Traditionally, Christmas trees come from Christmas tree farms and gardens and are predominantly spruce, fir, pine, cedar and redwood.

Customers can choose between live and felled trees. Sholesale prices are determined by species and height. The wholesale price of cut-off Christmas trees is up to 16 leva (about eight euro), while that of live Christmas trees in pots varies between five and 30 leva.
