PostSubject: Frustration in Bulgaria   Tue Oct 15, 2013 1:09 pm

Hi everyone - Just as we are about to leave forever, after 9 years I still have frustrations! Bureaucracy related of course. Can anyone help by telling me where the Bulsatcom office has moved to this time in VT? I need to get a new TV remote which has just packed up as we are due to leave. Its not the battery. Tried that and it seems that it is very loose which is probably the problem.
The second frustration is the electric company - no surprises there. We always pay on time in our local PO. They want us to pay in the main office in VT before coming to read our meter when we leave. Our poor agent is dealing with them. I pity him. If its anything like the petty bureaucracy involved in stopping the telephone and internet it is absolutely pathetic so I will do neither. The sub will just run out and then the new owners can connect up to the software and take over my contract. Why can't it be that simple? Ah, but this is Bulgaria. Not the reason we are leaving but a good send off.....

Thanks Andy. It seems like it is now in the main street and not tucked away behind the statue opposite Happy Man restaurant. Why to they keep moving? It started off next to Vali computers and sold everything to do with satellite. Now its just a place to pay. Will get my Hero to go in tomorrow. Also take the electric bill to our agent to sort out after paying in the PO. Job sorted... s

I was not aware of the fact that the remote was part of a deal

My Hero is in town as I write so I hope he has found the office and has a successful result. This is the third office move since we have been living here! With all the money they must have made because they almost have a monopoly I should think they would have a mega office like Vivacom et al. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Result - My Hero is back with the remote. However, tried it and it didn't work. Checked the back and its a new system needing 2 small batteries. Guess what? No batteries included. Luckily I have a collection of all sorts of batteries and finally found a couple that worked. The last remote used those round batteries. They must have had a lot of returned ones and so have gone back to the old system. I am happy to report that My Hero found the office which is above another in the main street of VT (Vasil Levski) by the Casino. The girl was very cheerful too but you now have to pay a nominal 1.80 and don't forget the batteries! She also didn't do a check that it worked and needed them. Happy bunnies again. s
