Couldn't get any glycerin in supermarkets and was directed to a pharmacy.
Asked the assistant for "
glitserin molya"
. . which produced a vacant stare.
Try again . . "
glycerin ? "
. . total failure to comprehend. Then dialogue between assistant and pharmacist.
"
Ah glycereen "

Thought that's what I said !

Just looked it up in the dictionary as we really do need new ones. Think we'll use sign language instead!

I have a problem trying to pronounce it! What size (length) do you need? I have a pair of Bosch 48cm, still in unopened package going begging. That'll teach me to rely on my memory when buying such things!

Thanks for the kind offer. We have a Nissan X-Trail, but Stewart is going to the local garage this week. Apparently he's going to take the old one off and show the guy! Will keep you posted. T

I bought these from Praktiker hoping they were right for the Patrol, but she needs 50cms. Praktiker, at least in Plovdiv, has a very wide range (brands and sizes) of these things. All he needs to do is measure the length of the rubber..changing them over is a 30 second job. Check the size on both sides, because they are often different!

Let me know how you go.

The Bulgarians don't even know their own word for window putty, there is no putty in any of their windows in our village, except in our house of course!!

Not quite sure where you got that from mate...window putty in Bulgarian is 'madjun'. Proper, or top quality putty is made using linseed oil, or in Bulgarian, 'leneno maslo'..up until about 10 years ago it was quite rare here and very expensive, so many people had to do without it.

I have bought and used putty (madjun) here in BG Bazz - of course they know what putty is called but they don't use it (I was only joking!!). Before I set to with our property there wasn't one inch of useable putty in any of the windows and my friend Steve used putty on every window to stop the wind blasting all over the place.
