Looks like you have a fair mix of oak in there, which is good...the smooth barked stuff could be any number of species, but overall you will be fine.

Put it away in stages...top and edges first...about a week of sunny weather between stages.

T that's good. We were suppose to go to the concert today with the folklore group but then the had to cancel because of the wood. But had 4 calls today asking what time tomorrow we need help to put the wood away.... Love these people. It is covered up now so if tomorrow is nice the cover will be taken off and will do as you suggested Bazz. g

Having given you that advice Berni...I would (no pun) just go ahead and stack it away inside...leave the door open on the wood shed and let the hot summer weather do the rest...if the warm air can circulate through the shed, all will be well by next winter. Having it covered outside won't allow the moisture to dissipate...in fact, the opposite is what will happen.

Keep fingers crossed for some dry, sunny weather between then and now...leave it uncovered and all should be good.

I watched ytube on how to stack wood and was very impressed.  So I set about stacking ensuring the corners were level and flat wood only used and continued to stack in the middle   see photo 1 below

Then this morning Ginka came down to help for and hour or so and the three of us stacked 1 and 1/2 rows. When she went we stopped for coffee. Dougie and I went to stack the rest of the row before lunch and it all looked good. I went to prepare lunch and Dougie was on the top step of the balcony and called me to say " it has all fallen down" Angry  After lunch I went in the shed myself and started stacking it again an hour passed and again got most of it back up then it fell again.  This was not working so I gave up this time. Hot

When Dougie woke up from his nap we tried once more this time did it his way and not the ytube way. Hot We stacked the wood to touch the edges of the shed back and sides, ytube was only from the edges of the pallets with a gap all around hence it had nothing to lean against for support. So I passed and he stacked.  Now it is very sturdy so we wait to check it tomorrow. Angel but I am sure it will be good this time.

Hurray!!!!!!!!! checked the shed and the woods is still in tact. So we continued stacking the remainder and now we have finished stacking the 10cubs of wood and it all fitted into the the wood shed we made last year, could have topped up the last two line with another cub or two but not to worry in total we have 7 rows so really plased with that. Might get another 5 cubs in May and store under the villa then I will know for sure we will not run out even if there are two fires going.
